Maybe I was just too fussy for my own good, but then maybe I just realized that if I were going to continue to spend fifteen or twenty hours each week carving, I might as well be comfortable and well equipped. The bench described [at this link] is one that I built about 3 years ago to better equip my shop for carving classes. It has proven sturdy, comfortable, durable, and convenient. Some of my students have copied the design and built their own. Perhaps is can serve you as well as it has served me.
